“Delaware County Historical Society (DCHS) works to collect, preserve and protect the history and culture of Delaware County through the maintenance of historical records, artifacts, and strong educational outreach.”
DCHS aims to build upon a diverse community of board members, friends, staff and volunteers, bonded by a shared commitment to the preservation of Delaware County history, service to community, partnership, and education. We are currently looking for a few more dedicated volunteers to help support our mission!
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Research Library/Museum: The DCHS Research Library is often the first stop for the Delaware County genealogy and historical researcher! Help index our collection, shelf and file archival information, aid visitors in finding answers to their questions, both in house and via email and regular mail. Assist with exhibit design and/or development. Training is provided.
Website and Social Media: Do you have strong computer skills? DCHS is looking for an intern or volunteer to aid DCHS in the design and maintenance of our web site, our social media sites, along with other technology related opportunities.
Educational Programs: Are you a retired teacher? Do you have experience working in a school environment? We are looking for individuals to assist with our award winning program. Training is provided and participants must have all required clearances.
